RBPC aligns its editorial practices with internationally recognized principles of publication ethics and transparency, including guidance and flowcharts from the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). Reference to COPE does not constitute a claim of institutional membership.

Scientific articles undergo double-anonymous peer review. Authors and reviewers do not receive each other's identities during the review process. Each scientific article is evaluated by at least two independent reviewers. A third review may be requested in cases of substantial disagreement, ethical concern or need for complementary expertise. Editorials and institutional communications undergo editorial review.
The journal is published and managed by the Revista Brasileira de Produção Científica (RBPC) editorial operation in Brazil. Editorial governance is exercised by the Editor-in-Chief and the Editorial Board, whose names and affiliations are publicly available on the journal's Editorial Team page.

Authorship is limited to persons who have made substantial contributions, approved the final version and accept responsibility for the work. Contributions that do not meet authorship criteria should be acknowledged. The journal adopts the CRediT taxonomy for contributor roles in its current editorial workflow.
Authors, reviewers and editors must disclose financial, professional, academic, institutional or personal interests that could influence the work or editorial process. A disclosed conflict does not automatically imply rejection, but it must be transparently managed.
Plagiarism, inappropriate self-plagiarism, fabrication or falsification of data, image manipulation, improper authorship, duplicate publication and citation manipulation are not accepted. Similarity reports are interpreted by editors and are not judged solely by a numerical percentage.
Generative AI systems may not be listed as authors and cannot assume academic responsibility. Any material use of generative AI must be disclosed by authors, identifying the tool, purpose and human supervision. Authors remain fully responsible for accuracy, originality, citations, rights and integrity. Reviewers and editors must not upload confidential manuscripts, author data or peer-review reports to public generative AI tools. Simple language correction does not remove the requirement for human review, and substantive uses must be transparently described.
When applicable, authors must identify the relevant ethics committee, institution and approval number and describe informed consent. Research involving animals must comply with applicable legislation and institutional standards. Personally identifiable information may only be published on an appropriate ethical and legal basis, including compliance with applicable data-protection requirements.
Authors must provide a data-availability statement. RBPC encourages public sharing of data, code, protocols and other research materials whenever ethically, legally and technically possible. When sharing is restricted, the reason must be stated, for example confidentiality, consent restrictions, personal-data protection, legal restrictions, third-party rights or justified security concerns. Authors must describe methods and analytical procedures with sufficient detail to support verification and reproducibility where applicable. Fabricated or falsified data and intentional withholding of information necessary to assess the integrity of the work are treated as research misconduct.
Authors retain copyright and grant RBPC the right of first publication. Published content is licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC 4.0).
The current Article Processing Charge is R$ 270.00 and is charged only for accepted manuscripts. Payment does not guarantee acceptance and has no influence on reviewers or editorial decisions. Scientific evaluation is kept separate from the financial process.
Substantiated complaints may be sent to the editorial contact email. The journal records the matter, evaluates available evidence, allows relevant parties an opportunity to respond and communicates the decision. Errors that do not invalidate the work may lead to an erratum or corrigendum linked to the original article. Unreliable results, serious misconduct or redundant publication may lead to retraction, while preserving the scholarly record and providing a public explanation. Withdrawal is exceptional and limited to legal, privacy or serious-risk circumstances.
RBPC uses continuous publication within annual volumes. Publication dates and volume information are displayed on article pages.
RBPC is an open-access journal. Published articles are available online without mandatory reader registration or pay-per-view charges.
RBPC maintains backups of the database, PDFs, submission files and OJS installation, with SHA-256 integrity verification. The operational routine includes automated daily backups, retention of historical versions, an external copy separate from the production server, checksum verification and documented restoration testing. RBPC does not currently claim participation in LOCKSS, CLOCKSS, PKP Preservation Network, Portico or an equivalent institutional long-term preservation network; any future participation will be publicly stated only when active.
The journal's publishing model includes the Article Processing Charge described above. Editorial decisions are independent from financial considerations. RBPC does not currently carry commercial advertising on its scholarly content pages. Any future advertising policy will be kept separate from editorial decision-making. Any direct marketing or manuscript solicitation undertaken on behalf of the journal must be appropriate, targeted, unobtrusive, factually accurate and independent of editorial decisions.
