Submissions

Author Guidelines

Before submission, authors should use the official RBPC templates:

• Anonymous manuscript template
• Separate author identification, ORCID and CRediT sheet

Required files

1. Anonymous manuscript: DOC or DOCX file without names, ORCID identifiers, email addresses, identifiable acknowledgements, author institutions or identifying hidden document properties.
2. Author identification sheet: separate file containing full names, complete affiliations, city, country, email, ORCID, corresponding author identification and CRediT contributions.

Accepted languages

RBPC accepts full manuscripts in Portuguese, English or Spanish. Regardless of the main language, submission metadata must include the title, abstract, keywords and author affiliations in both Portuguese and English. For manuscripts written in Spanish, title, abstract and keywords in Spanish must also be supplied.

Metadata and author identification

The corresponding author's ORCID is mandatory and must belong to that author, in the format https://orcid.org/0000-0000-0000-0000. ORCID identifiers for all coauthors are strongly recommended. All authors must declare contributor roles using the CRediT taxonomy. Affiliations must identify the institution in full, city and country and must also be entered in English. Authors without an institutional affiliation may use “Independent researcher”, followed by city and country.

Manuscript structure

The structure must follow the submission type. RBPC uses ABNT NBR 6022:2018 for journal articles, ABNT NBR 6028:2021 for abstracts and reviews, ABNT NBR 10520:2023 for citations, and ABNT NBR 6023:2025 for references.

1. Scientific article

• Title in Portuguese and English;
• Resumo and Abstract, 100–250 words each;
• Palavras-chave and Keywords, three to five terms;
• Introduction: topic, research problem, rationale and objective(s);
• Development: theoretical framework, methods, results and discussion, or other appropriate subsections;
• Final considerations;
• References according to ABNT NBR 6023:2025.

2. Experience report

• Title in Portuguese and English;
• Resumo and Abstract, 100–250 words;
• Palavras-chave and Keywords, three to five terms;
• Introduction;
• Context and description of the experience;
• Results, learning and discussion;
• Limitations and replicability, when applicable;
• Final considerations;
• References.

3. Review

Reviews must follow ABNT NBR 6028:2021. The standard does not impose a word limit on reviews.

• Review title in Portuguese and English;
• Full reference of the reviewed work according to ABNT NBR 6023:2025;
• Presentation of the work and author(s);
• Content synthesis;
• Critical analysis;
• Final appraisal;
• Additional references when used.

The review should be predominantly continuous prose and must be written by someone other than the author of the reviewed work.

4. Interview

ABNT does not prescribe a specific textual structure for interviews. RBPC therefore adopts the following editorial structure:

• Title in Portuguese and English;
• Resumo and Abstract, 100–250 words for indexing;
• Palavras-chave and Keywords, three to five terms;
• Interviewee presentation;
• Context and purpose;
• Date, format and location when relevant;
• Questions and answers;
• Notes and references when external sources are cited;
• Publication authorization from the interviewee.

Abstracts and keywords

Under ABNT NBR 6028:2021, journal-article abstracts should contain 100–250 words and be written as a single paragraph. Keywords must appear immediately below the abstract, separated by semicolons and ending with a period. RBPC requires three to five keywords in each mandatory language.

Formatting

• A4 paper; top and left margins 3 cm; bottom and right margins 2 cm.
• Times New Roman 12 pt; 1.5 line spacing; first-line indentation 1.25 cm.
• Long quotations, notes, captions and table sources: 10 pt and single spacing.
• Figures and tables must be numbered, cited in the text and accompanied by a title, source and alternative text or description when applicable.

Mandatory declarations

The manuscript and author identification sheet must disclose funding, conflicts of interest, ethics approval, consent, data availability and any use of artificial intelligence.

Data availability and reproducibility

RBPC does not impose a universal public-data mandate. Authors should share the data, code, instruments or other materials supporting the results whenever ethically, legally and technically possible, preferably in a trusted repository with a persistent identifier. When sharing is restricted, the data availability statement must explain the reason. Editors may request underlying materials when necessary to assess integrity or reproducibility, subject to ethical and legal restrictions.

References

References must follow ABNT NBR 6023:2025. In-text citations must follow ABNT NBR 10520:2023. Only cited works should be listed. DOI identifiers should be supplied as https://doi.org/... and URLs should be included when available. Incomplete references may prevent editorial processing.

Originality and peer review

Submissions must be original and may not be under simultaneous consideration by another journal. Work derived from preprints or conference presentations must be identified in comments to the editor. Scientific sections use double-anonymous peer review by at least two independent external reviewers per article.

Fees

RBPC charges an editorial processing fee (APC) of R$ 270.00 at the time of submission. Payment is required to formally complete the submission and enter the editorial workflow. Payment does not guarantee acceptance or publication and does not affect editorial screening, peer review or editorial decisions.
